In-person education

The online course is step one. You can stop there, or if you’re wanting to do some extra hands-on learning to solidify your new skillset, check out Em’s in person classes.

  • No, the online course is meant to stand on its own. It’s the best toupee education you can receive, with only one exception, which is the online course + in person classes. Many people feel ready to jump right in once completing the course. Some people who are more hands on learners really benefit from in-person education in addition to the course, or even just find comfort in knowing the option is there before jumping in. Think of it as an extra, but a really beneficial one that will get you further, faster!

  • These options are only meant to be utilized after completing the online course. We know that many cosmetologists are hands on learners and want to jump right to in-person learning, which TOTALLY makes sense. But we ask you to trust us on this one! The world of toupee artistry is new to almost everyone. There are so many nitty gritty details, and so much to learn. The course covers everything.

    Your time with Em is meant to dive right in to practice, practice, practice with her guidance and support. All while using the many new tools, knowledge and skills you’ve already acquired. Em values your time and money and has learned that the benefit of in-person learning really comes from applying toupees on real humans, together!

  • Em absolutely loves teaching in person, and these classes are made for really getting that practice in and feeling extra confident and ready to take on the world of toupee artistry! These classes have helped students feel more prepared to step into their career, both in their toupee artistry and charging competitive pricing. (See: Em’s Pricing Suggestions) Everyone learns in different ways, whether you know right off the bat that you’ll want to do an in-person class or you finish the course and then decide it’s the right next step, these classes are here for you!

  • You can choose between a single day 1-on-1 class, or a two day group class.

single day 1-on-1 class

  • Located in San Diego, CA

  • Includes one full day of immersive hands on training with Em, working on real clients.

  • Classes are held based on Em’s schedule but are normally a month out for scheduling

Two day Group class

  • Located in San Diego, CA

  • Includes two days of immersive, partial hands on training with other students, watching and participating with real clients.

  • Classes are held once a month on a Saturday and Sunday

Once your purchase is made, you will be given access to schedule your training. If none of the provided dates work for you, reach out to us and we can work together to find a date that fits your schedule.  Both in-person classes come with the online course which should be completed before attending the class.

Are you sure I'll be able to do this?

If you can do a basic haircut, you can learn toupee artistry. Em’s step-by-step system breaks down every technique into manageable steps and we provide support until you’re fully confident in your skills! Remember, every expert toupee specialist started exactly where you are now.

I've never worked with toupees before. Am I too inexperienced?

Not at all! This course is designed for complete beginners. You’ll start with the basics and build from there. Many of our most successful students had zero toupee experience when they started.

How long until I can start working with clients?

Most dedicated students begin working with clients within 30-60 days of starting their training. We teach you everything from basic techniques to client consultation, ensuring you're fully prepared before you work with your first client.

Do I need a license to offer toupee services?

While most of our students are licensed beauty professionals, you don't need a license if you're helping family members or working under proper supervision. However, check your local regulations for specific requirements.

How much money do I need to get started?

After you’ve completed the course, the initial investment in basic tools and supplies is under $500. In the course, you’ll learn how to structure your services so clients cover product costs upfront. Most students make back their total investment after their first few clients.

Do I need to leave my current salon job?

Not at all! Many of our students start offering toupee services part-time while maintaining their current position. Some continue working in salons, while others eventually transition to mobile services or to their own specialized studio.
